For our purposes, 'Author Copies' are books ordered and paid for by you, the author. There are no upper or lower limits to the numbers of orders you may make, or the amount of books purchasable in any one order. We will post out author copies for you to any address in the world, charging you postage and packing at cost. As author copies are heavily discounted, you do not earn royalties on author copies, you will only earn royalties on books sold through our Fulfilment/Distribution service (e.g. to Amazon, book retailers such as Waterstones).
Print Charge For “Author Copies"
With the exception of low-page count books, the print charge per Author Copy equals the page count times the print cost per page, plus the unit cost per book. So, this is the formula we use in calculating your print charge per author copy:
Print Charge = Book Page Count x Print Cost per Page + Unit Cost per Book
Small Paperback (B&W) Book – Perfect Bind
Unit Cost per Book = £0.75
Print Cost per Page = £0.016

Print Charge = 108 x £0.016 + £0.75
Print Charge per Author Copy = £2.48
This means we will charge you £2.48 for each copy you ordered as Author Copies.
Large Paperback (B&W) Book – Perfect Bind
Unit Cost per Book = £0.80
Print Cost per Page = £0.023

Author Copy = 108 x £0.023 + £0.80
Total Print Charge per Author Copy = £3.28
This means we will charge you £3.28 for each copy you ordered as Author Copies.

Ø Remember your page count must be perfectly divisible by 4 with the last page blank.
Ø Postage and packaging is charged to you at cost - and it is based on the actual weight of the consignment and its destination. We would give you a precise quote for shipping your consignment at the time of order.
Ø Volume discounts may apply to high volume orders. Contact your Client Service Representative for special pricing information.
Ø For larger quantity Author Copies book orders, we provide volume print discounts. These discounts apply to the number of units ordered for each order line, not an entire order. Discounts apply to standard list price and cannot be combined with other discount programs.
