Fulfilment/Distribution Service For EU Customers

Fulfilment is where we receive the trade orders, warehouse, ship and then invoice for the books on your behalf. We then pay you royalties on all these sales without you having to get involved in any of the work in this process. Our fulfilment service is for the author, provided an ISBN number is assigned to your title.

Set-Up Price

To join our Fulfilment/Distribution service, you pay a set-up price of just €29 and there will be a fee of €15.00 a year digital cataloguing charge that will be billed on an annual basis for each title that is part of our fulfilment service.

What Exactly You Get For This Price

· Free worldwide distribution

· Your ‘print on demand’ title will be automatically entered into our free worldwide fulfilment/distribution service.

· List title information and your book cover images on major websites such as www.amazon.com, www. amazon.co.uk, and Barnes & Noble.

· List your book on a multitude of places across the web, and major bookstores.

Where Do Esteemworld Publications Fulfil To?

The UK, US and Africa are our main destinations. We use Gardners Books and Bertams Books as our distributors (the two main distributors in the UK that the book trade order from) as well as the Africa Distributor, Esteem Book Distributors and also Marvellous Christian Library. And for the US Distributor, Ingram Book Distributors and Baker & Taylor are our main distributors. Please note that trade orders coming from outside these distributors, direct to us, will not be considered as being part of the free fulfilment service, and so differant terms will apply, to be agreed with the author.

Worldwide Trade Fulfilment To Other Countries Other Than The UK, US & Africa

We will fulfil to other countries but the customer or website may have to pay a premium for the extra shipping involved. However we will not charge you the author anything extra, and you will still receive the exact same royalties on each copy for all sales made.
Some examples:

USA: We will list you on www.amazon.com. To the best of our knowledge the customer does not pay a premium for ordering your book on there. American Bookshops are able to order from Ingrams Distributors.

Canada: We will list you on www.amazon.ca. To the best of our knowledge the customer does not pay a premium for ordering your book on there. Canadian Bookshops are able to order from Ingrams Distributors in the USA.

Germany: We will list you on www.amazon.de. The premium added to the customer for shipping is minimal.

France: We will list you on www.amazon.fr. The premium added to the customer for shipping is minimal. Other European bookshops, as per the above, can order from our UK distributors.

Japan: We will list you on www.amazon.jp. We think there will be a premium added on this site for the extra shipping. Japanese Bookshops are able to order from Ingrams Distributors who have a presence in Japan but there may be a premium added to the customer.

African Countries: we will list you on major book websites in Africa like Evangel. The premium added to the customer for shipping is minimal. Other African bookshops, as per the above, can order from our Africa distributors.

An added bonus is that bookshops or websites in the UK, US and Africa who order through our distributors do not have to pay for shipping on their order so will be more inclined to order your book! However, we believe most countries can order direct from websites such as amazon.com.

How Does Fulfilment Work?

For the sake of simplicity, we based our calculations on a standard print specifications of a medium sized book: We pay you for each trade sale we make for you, the Recommended Retail Price (RRP) that you set, less the distribution discount that you set, less the fulfilment price. So we pay you royalty on each sale for doing NOTHING. This is 100% more than traditional publishers royalty! We do not deduct any sales commission from these royalties.

There is no financial outlay on your part and you do not need to pay for shipping to the bookstore or advance buy books to stock our warehouse for this service either.

How Should I Set My Book’s RRP?

If you wish to be competitive, look at similar titles by other authors and see how much they cost. Try to keep your pricing in line with this. You do not need to undercut to make sales. In our experience underpriced books sell much less than normally priced books!

How Much Discount Should I Allow?

This is completely up to you. You may set whatever you like. The minimum you may set through us is 25% discount, which is ample for the Internet. This discount is passed onto our distribution partners, who will then take their cut before passing the book onto the retailer who will then pass your book onto the customer. If you want your book to be widely available in bookstores up and down the county, you should offer 55% discount. It is normally far better for sales to bookstores to set a normal to high retail price and offer a high discount, than to price low and discount low.

Royalty On Sales Made By Us Directly On Your Behalf Through Our Distribution Service:

For us, your royalty is not based on a percentage but is more fairly based on the printing price. This is the formula we use in calculating your royalty:

Retail Price - Distribution Discount - Distribution Print Price = Your Royalty

Therefore, the royalty is calculated as the retail price that you choose less the distribution discount you choose less your distribution print price, which is based on page count.

Please Note:

· The 'distribution print price' is the printing and distribution price that we deduct from each sale that we make on your behalf.

· For sales made direct by us via our 'fulfilment' service (e.g. to Amazon, book retailers such as Waterstones and via our website) the distribution print price on a 108-page book is €4.74 per copy no matter how many copies sold. If your book has more pages than 108, add €0.015 per extra page to €4.74 to reach your distribution print price. Remember your page count must be perfectly divisible by 4 with the last page blank.

Examples:

For a 108-page book, if your book’s RRP is €15 and you decide to give 25% distribution discount through us (which is enough discount for Amazon etc) it is calculated as:

€15 - 25% - €4.74 = €6.51

Therefore, the fulfilment price = €6.51 royalty that you will receive on each sale for doing NOTHING - we do all the handling of orders, the postage of the books and invoicing and collecting money from the retailer on your behalf.

For a 200-page book, if your book’s RRP is €15 and you give 25% distribution discount, it would be calculated as follows:

Firstly, we calculate the ‘Distribution Print Price’:

Prices as above plus €1.38 per book (200 -108 pages as per quote = 92 extra pages @ €0.015 per page)

The ‘Distribution Print Price’ would therefore be €4.74 + €1.38 = €6.12

Therefore, your royalty is:

€15 - 25% - €6.12 = €5.13 per sale royalty

For a 300 page book, if your book’s RRP is €15 and you give 25% distribution discount, it would be calculated as follows:

Prices as above plus €2.88 per book (300 -108 pages as per quote = 192 extra pages @ €0.015 per page)

The ‘Distribution Print Price’ would therefore be €4.74 + €2.88 = €7.62

Therefore, your royalty is:

€15 - 25% - €7.62 = €3.63 per sale royalty

In Summary

Royalty examples based on a 108-page book and 25% distribution discount are:

RRP €7.24 = €0.68 per sale royalty
RRP €8.67 = €1.77 per sale royalty
RRP €10.14 = €2.86 per sale royalty
RRP €11.57 = €3.94 per sale royalty
RRP €13.04 = €5.03 per sale royalty
RRP €14.49 = €6.12 per sale royalty

Please Note:

· And €1.09 royalty per extra €1.45 charged on retail price.
· If you wish to subsidise your work so you sell your books to the public as cheaply as possible, you can set your royalties at a zero rating. If you wish to sell your books at a loss through our fulfilment service for tactical or other reasons then please contact us first.

How are the royalties paid?

Royalties will become due to be paid to you no sooner than one quarter after the first month of sale and will be paid on a quarterly basis if less than €50 is due or on a monthly basis if €50 or more is due. UK customers will be paid by cheque in £ sterling or by paypal. For UK customer’s books sold in the USA + Canada, we will pay royalties in £ sterling after first converting the royalties from US dollars at the current exchange rate. US based customers will be paid in US dollars by paypal, and their UK/European sales will be converted to US dollars at the current exchange rate. Also, all Africa based customers will be paid in their various country currency, and their UK/European sales will be converted to their currency at the current exchange rate. If your book status is returnable, then different terms will apply than for those books sold on a firm sale only basis.

Whether you are buying an ISBN number from us or you are using your own, after the first year, there will be a fee of €15.00 a year digital cataloguing charge that will be billed on an annual basis for each title that is part of our fulfilment service. This fee is OPTIONAL and is only applicable if you wish to keep your title 'live' in our free distribution system.
